......
Benucci's
3349 Monroe Avenue, Pittsford, NY
Interesting decor; good food; we've returned a few times.

Dinosaur Barbecue
99 Court Street, Rochester, NY
A favorite place that we've been to several times. The Pork Bar-B-San was delicious. Other locations: Syracuse, New York City.

Jitters Cafe
4357 Buffalo Rd, North Chili, NY
Mary Ellen and I went there with Vickie & Becky. I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich.

The Brewery
Honeoye Falls, NY
Summer 2005 - We found this place by chance when driving through the area. We ate on the outside deck, with a great view of the falls and Honeoye Creek below us.

City Tavern
138 South 2nd Street at Walnut Street,Philadelphia, PA
This restaurant is a reconstructed colonial tavern; it's hard to believe that the building is not original. For ambiance, it's probably the best place we've ever eaten, but also one of the most expensive.

Benihana's
Philadelphia, PA
Very entertaining chefs cook your food right at your table. We first ate here probably in the 1970's; the one we went to is no longer there, but they have locations in Pennsauken, New York City, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Troy, Denver, Indianapolis, and many other places.

Basket Factory
2 Watson Avenue, Middleport, NY
Good food; nice view of the Erie Canal.

The Spa
Porter, Indiana
A nice restaurant, out in the country, near Indiana Dunes State Park. We went there on Tom's birthday sometime in the mid-1980's, when we were camping at the dunes. I can't find any information about it now, so I'm not sure if it's still there.
Update - the restaurant is closed; the building is now the Spring House Inn.

The Garland House
7547 Ridge Road, Brockport, NY
Basic good food and nice decor; a convenient place to go that's not too expensive.

Fuddrucker's
We ate at one in the St. Paul area, and also one near Oxford Valley, PA.
Good burgers, any way you want them. Casual decor; a fun place to eat.

Jack Creek Steakhouse
1900 Catasauqua Road, Allentown, PA 18109
Steaks, seafood and Tex-Mex dishes. They also have an Easton location.

Rohrbach's
3859 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY
Good beer, good food, best American restaurant in Ogden.

Blue Dolphin Diner
Apalachin, NY
Over the years it's been a favorite place to stop on the way to Philadelphia. The kids enjoyed hot chocolate and whipped cream with their breakfast. They have baklava and other treats available in their bakery case.

NOLA's New Orleans Louisiana Barbecue
4775 Lake Ave., Rochester, NY (near Charlotte Beach)
The family ate here for my birthday in 2004. Good food; everyone enjoyed it.

Hot Biscuit Diner
14 Montcalm St., Ticonderoga, NY
2004 & 2005 - A favorite place to eat with the Company of Select Marksmen.

BD's Mongolian Barbecue
430 S. Main Street, Royal Oak, MI
September 2005 - We had dinner here with Laura when we brought her back to school. (And again in September 2006.) You select your meat and vegetables, bring it to the grill, and watch it being prepared. Other locations: Denver, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and more, mostly in the midwest.

Tapas 177 Lounge
177 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY
September 2005 - A nice place to go for a special dinner. Everything we ordered was interesting and delicious. Unusual outside courtyard downstairs.

Chilango's
42 Nichols Street, Spencerport, NY
2005 - An excellent Mexican restaurant; one of the best restaurants in Ogden.

The Spot
1062 Upper Front St, Binghamton, NY
A comfortable and convenient place to eat on the way between Philadelphia and Rochester. They have unusual and delicious greek treats in their dessert case.

Kolache Factory
92-A Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO
May 2005 - Delicious eastern european pastry, with fruit or deli fillings. We had a Philly Steak version and a poppy seed filled one. Also located in: Indianapolis, St. Louis, and other places.

The King and I
1455 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY
One of our favorite places in the Rochester area; we've eaten here several times. Delicious Thai recipes.

King and I Thai
1346 LaSalle Ave., Minneapolis
December 2006 - We had a very nice dinner here on a cold rainy night; we took advantage of the valet parking. Elegant but casual atmosphere. It appeared to be a popular place to eat; they were busy but we didn't have to wait long. Interesting and good food; I had Pad Thai.

Ted's Montana Grill
330 South Teller Street, Lakewood, CO
May 2005 - Tender beef or bison steaks. Very good but expensive. Also located in Philadelphia, Columbus, Wichita, Omaha, Kansas City, Indianapolis, South Windsor, CT and other places.

Chipotle
3170 S. Wadsworth, Lakewood, CO
April 2005 - Great burritos made to order. Other locations in New York City and Brooklyn; Washington DC and suburbs; Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus Ohio; Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and many other locations around the country.

Mamasan's
2800 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY
Delicious Vietnamese and Thai food. We've been to the University Avenue location a few times, before they moved to Monroe Avenue.

Qdoba
301 S. Main Street, Royal Oak, MI
October 2005 - Laura and I had lunch there; I had a really good burrito. It was similar to Chipotle, but they don't just do burritos, they have the usual range of Tex Mex food. There are many locations around the country including Philadelphia and Denver.

Timber Lodge Steakhouse
6560 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY
Good food, and I like the rustic decor. This is the only location in the east; they have several in Minnesota, one in Wisconsin, and a few others in the midwest.

Warfield's
7 West Main Street, Clifton Springs, NY
One of our favorites; we found this restaurant by chance, when driving through Clifton Springs. It's a beautifully renovated space with lots of wood trim. They have interesting good food and unusual desserts.

Brittingham's Irish Pub
640 E. Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA
One of our favorites since the mid 1980's; we usually go for the music on the weekends, but they have a dining room also.

Phillip's European Restaurant
26 Corporate Woods, Rochester, NY
Phillips = desserts in Rochester; you might not get past the pastry case! We've had interesting dinners here, but sometimes we just get desserts to go.

The Crystal Barn
2851 Clover Street - Pittsford, NY
We had a very nice meal here for our anniversary in 2005. They have food you can't get at most places - I had a wild game selection which included antelope, boar and quail. Tom had Beef Wellington. Update - the restuarant is closed.

Coldstone Creamery
"Best Ice Cream Fix"
December 2004 - I had ice cream here with Laura and her friends in Royal Oak.
Since then we've been to the Lakewood, Cherry Hill, Pittsford and Waikiki locations.
Many other locations across the country, including ones we've seen but not been to:
Elkins Park, PA; Greektown (Detroit); and Times Square.

Steak and Brew
Rt. 26, Turin, NY
September 2006 - Tom and I had a really nice dinner here; we had Veal Oscar and Filet Mignon; both were delicious. From a web forum on Adirondack restaurants: "So far the best place I've eaten in the ADK's is technically outside the park at Snow Ridge near Turin on Tug Hill. The place is called Steak and Brew. I've eaten there a dozen times and have never failed to be impressed with the food or service. The owner/chef makes some great tableside dishes from a scratch Caesar to Steak Dianne and flambayed bananas. He's very personable and puts on a great show."

Brit's Pub and Eating Establishment
1110 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis
December 2006 - Tom and I had lunch here on the invitation of Brian and Elizabeth. Great dark wood bar room with comfortable chairs by the fireplace; we enjoyed the company, the food and the English beer.

Singha Thai
We ate here during our visit to Waikiki; it was comfortable and the food was good; we were seated in the beautiful outdoor patio area.

Bristol Harbor
5410 Seneca Point Road, Canandaigua
"Gorgeous views of southern Canandaigua Lake; a woodsy, Adirondack-style restaurant."
We had dinner here summer 2007; the view from the patio is impressive.

The Lumber Yard
Silver Lake, NY
The restaurant is in an old sawmill; beautifully decorated, very comfortable.
We had brunch here in 2012.

Ruth's Chris Steak House
"Serious steak, sizzling personality." A couple different talk show hosts recommend it. It looks like a really nice place to eat, but it's expensive.
Locations in Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Troy, Cleveland, Denver, New York City and many other places in the U.S., Canada and Mexico

Naked Fish and Cuban Cocktails
Recommended by a friend who had a rehearsal dinner there for her son.
Locations in Boston and several other places in Massachusetts.

Glen Iris Inn
Located in Letchworth State Park, it is a beautiful old house overlooking a large waterfall. We saw it when exploring the park in November 2005, but it was closed for the season. It opens again in the spring.

Siri's Thai French Cuisine
2117 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill
Looks like an interesting place to eat; it got good reviews.

The Melting Pot
A fondue restaurant chain; we went after Laura's graduation, May 2008. The food was delicious, especially the cheese course and the chocolate dessert course, but it's expensive. (Thanks, kids, for the gift certificate!) We had a dark chocolate with Bailey's for dessert. If you go with more than 4 people, don't let them put you in a booth - there's not enough room for three on one side (at least at the Troy location.) And if you're short, bring a pillow - the table was too high. Locations in Philadelphia, Troy, Littleton, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Brookfield WI, and many other places.

P.F. Chang's
We enjoyed dinner at the Victor location with Karl and Laura, August 2006. The atmosphere is interesting and comfortable, and they had many unusual menu items; the food was good. "The P.F. Chang's experience is a unique combination of Chinese cuisine, attentive service, wine, and tempting desserts all served in a stylish, high-energy bistro." Locations in Victor, Marlton, Troy, Lakewood, and others.

Grimaldi's Pizzaria
Located at 19 Old Fulton Street, under the Brooklyn Bridge, in Brooklyn.
Someone told me this is the best pizza in New York City.

Jack Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn
1319 East Henry Clay Street, Whitefish Bay, WI
We've been enjoying their famous German pancake recipe for years, and I'd like to try the real thing.
